Ummm indeed. Blogs always seem like a fantastic idea, usually right up until the moment when you realise you're required to add content to them. Not just any content either, responsible grown-up relevant content at that.
I'll take this inaugural blog as an opportunity to just revisit a few things mentioned within the pages of this site, namely that I'm both a graphic designer and illustrator. I'll happily quote on projects that require both, or projects that require one or the other. I have professional experience drifting back over 20 years now, to times when my college tutors would tell us not to pay too much heed to computers, as they'd never really take over in the industry. Uh-huh. Luckily I didn't pay too much attention to that advice and am an accomplished illustrator using both oldschool implements, and the clicky pointy scrolly modern stuff too.
I know which is the dangerous end of a camera, and can provide photography services at a reasonable price, but will happily point clients in the direction of professional photographers when I feel something is out of my remit. I am nothing if not honest. Likewise, I can tackle web design, but have a range of contacts in the field for when I believe it is best to defer to a specialist.
I have contacts in the print trade too, and well over a decade's experience in quoting and producing jobs ready for print. Contrary to the quality of this blog, I can also write copy if required. And, with that, that is the end of this first dipping of the toe into the blogosphere. Does anyone call it the blogosphere? Have I just marked myself out as somebody that probably didn't ought to try and be down with the kids? Disco is still in, right?
